How to Apply in Lithuania

Application

In Lithuania there is no central institution organizing the application process for universities. Applicants have to get in touch with their university of choice and inquire information on the application procedure directly with the university or international office.

What you have to do, however, as a citizen of a EU-Country is to check with the official Association of Lithuanian Higher Education Institute (LAMA)

  2. Pass the Lithuanian language test (if selected studies are conducted in Lithuanian and if the person has no proven record of language knowledge issued by competent authority);
  3. Submit the online application form (https://bp.lamabpo.lt/bp2014/lama_is.main);
  4. Pass the entrance examinations (if required for selected degree programs)
  5. Present documents to LAMA BPO before the date specified.

You must submit all documents to the respective university well in advance (check the deadline for particular study programs on the websites of the universities) a completed application form.

Admission Requirements

For the admission to a Lithuanian university you need Documents issued by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education evidencing secondary education or equivalent received in non-Lithuanian higher education schools. Academic recognition of the European Baccalaureate is not required.

Also for study programs conducted in English you need to prove your English proficiency. The following tests are widely accepted: TOEFL and IELTS. There might also be other accepted tests. Information on these have to inquired with the university at hand. The same holds true for a proficiency certificate in Lithuanian. The required test can be taken at selected Lithuanian universities, e.g. the Vilnius University.
